Terms of Service

Effective 9 July 2026 · Applies to the applecrumble.tech website and purchases of the Apple Crumble app

In short

  • Try the app free for 7 days, no card needed. Then subscribe monthly or buy a one-time license if you like it.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel. Cancelling is easy and you keep access until the end of the paid period.
  • The app may change or be discontinued at any time, and future updates and support are not guaranteed.
  • We are an independent developer with no affiliation to Apple Inc.
  • Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under consumer law, including the Australian Consumer Law.

1. These terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Apple Crumble ("we", "us"), an independent software business operated from Australia. They govern your use of the applecrumble.tech website (the "Site") and your purchase of licenses for the Apple Crumble app, which includes the Crumble Bar taskbar, Crumble Snap window management, and the optional Crumble Ask add-on (together, the "App"). Your installation and use of the App itself is governed by the End User License Agreement (EULA), and our handling of your information is described in the Privacy Policy. Refunds are covered by the Refund Policy. By using the Site or buying a license, you agree to these Terms.

2. No affiliation with Apple Inc.

Apple Crumble is an independent application that has not been authorized, sponsored, or otherwise approved by Apple Inc. We have no affiliation, association, partnership, or other relationship with Apple Inc. The name "Apple Crumble" refers to the dessert. Apple, Mac, macOS, and Apple Silicon are trademarks of Apple Inc., registered in the U.S. and other countries, and are used here only to describe compatibility.

3. Free trial

The App includes a 7-day free trial of Crumble Bar and Crumble Snap. No account, credit card, or payment details are required to start it, and nothing is charged when it ends. Crumble Ask is unlocked by a product key that includes it, not by the trial. When the trial expires, paid features stop working until a license is purchased. One trial is offered per person per Mac; circumventing the trial mechanism is not permitted.

4. Purchases and payment

Licenses are sold through our payment provider, Stripe. Prices are shown at checkout in the displayed currency and may change at any time; changes do not affect purchases already made. Depending on your country, tax (such as GST or VAT) may be added or included as indicated at checkout. After payment, your license key is shown on the confirmation page and emailed to you. You are responsible for providing an accurate email address and for keeping your license key confidential. Licenses are for the number of seats purchased and may be used on the Macs you personally own and use, as described in the EULA.

5. Subscriptions and automatic renewal

Subscription plans are billed in advance for the period shown at checkout (for example monthly) and renew automatically at the end of each period until you cancel. Each tier covers the features listed at checkout; the With Ask tiers add Crumble Ask. The renewal price is the price shown at checkout, or the then-current price if we have notified you of a change before renewal.

  • How to cancel: use the Stripe customer portal link included in your receipt and renewal emails, or email hello@applecrumble.tech and we will cancel it for you.
  • Effect of cancelling: you keep access until the end of the period you have paid for. After that, paid features stop working and no further charges are made.
  • Reminders: where required by law, you will receive a reminder before a renewal is charged.
  • Price changes: if the renewal price increases, we will notify you by email before the change takes effect so you can cancel first.

If a subscription lapses or a payment fails and is not resolved, your license reverts to an unlicensed state and paid features are disabled.

6. One-time licenses

A one-time ("Own It") purchase grants a perpetual license to use the features included in the product you bought, as described at checkout. Where your product includes updates, they are provided as described for that product. Otherwise, and after any included update entitlement ends, the versions you already have remain licensed and functional, and further updates are provided at our discretion and may be offered as separate paid upgrades. Words like "own it", "lifetime", and "forever" refer to the lifetime of the product, not the purchaser, and do not create an obligation to develop, update, or support the App forever (see section 8).

7. Crumble Ask and AI features

Crumble Ask is an optional add-on that connects to Anthropic's Claude API using an API key you obtain from Anthropic. Your use of the Claude API, including any usage fees, is governed by your own agreement with Anthropic, and conversations travel directly between your Mac and Anthropic. AI-generated responses can be inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable for your situation; you are responsible for evaluating them before relying on them, and we are not liable for decisions made based on AI output. Availability of the feature depends on Anthropic's service, which we do not control.

8. Availability, updates, and discontinuation

The App is provided as it exists on the day you buy it. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the App, any of its features, or any related service (including update delivery, license servers, and support) at any time, at any stage of the product's life, without liability to you. Future updates, new features, compatibility with future versions of macOS, and support are not guaranteed and do not form part of what you purchase, except for updates already released and, for subscriptions, the service for the period already paid.

If the App is discontinued, licensed versions will continue to work offline to the extent the software and your operating system allow, but we cannot guarantee indefinite compatibility with operating system changes made by Apple Inc. Nothing in this section limits your rights under consumer law or the Refund Policy.

9. Support

Support is provided by email on a reasonable-efforts basis. We do not guarantee response times, resolutions, or that support will remain available for any particular period.

10. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • share, resell, publish, or distribute license keys, or activate more seats than purchased;
  • circumvent, disable, or interfere with the trial, licensing, or activation mechanisms;
  • abuse, overload, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Site or our APIs;
  • use the Site or App in violation of any applicable law.

We may revoke license keys obtained fraudulently, charged back, or used in breach of these Terms.

11. Intellectual property

The App, the Site, and all associated content, branding, and code are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by copyright and other laws. Buying a license gives you the rights described in the EULA; it does not transfer ownership of anything.

12. Consumer guarantees

Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. For major failures you are entitled to cancel and receive a refund, or to compensation for any drop in value, and to compensation for other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. If a failure is not major, you are entitled to have it fixed in a reasonable time. If you live elsewhere, you may have similar non-excludable rights under your local law. Nothing in these Terms, the EULA, or the Refund Policy excludes, restricts, or modifies any such rights.

13. Disclaimer

Subject to section 12, the Site and App are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or compatible with any particular hardware, software, or future version of macOS.

14. Limitation of liability

Subject to section 12 and to the extent permitted by law: (a) we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss, loss of profits, loss of data, or business interruption arising from the Site or App; and (b) our total aggregate liability for all claims is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose and AUD $50. Where liability cannot be excluded but can be limited, it is limited, at our option, to resupplying the software or paying the cost of resupply.

15. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Site or revoke a license if you materially breach these Terms or the EULA and, where the breach can be remedied, fail to remedy it within a reasonable time after notice. You may stop using the Site and App at any time. Sections that by their nature should survive (including 11 to 17) survive termination.

16. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Australia. Disputes are subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the Australian courts. If you are a consumer in another country, you keep the protection of any mandatory consumer laws of that country.

17. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version is always posted here with its effective date. Material changes affecting active subscriptions will be notified by email before they apply. Continuing to use the Site or App after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.
